The Relationship Between Sleep and Cognitive and Physical Health

This investigation aimed to assess the relationship between chronic sleep and cognitive and physical health in preadolescent children ages 8 to 9 years. The hypothesis is that hours of sleep received per night will correlate positively with aerobic fitness levels, crystallized and fluid intelligence, and attentional inhibition abilities, as well as correlate negatively with BMI and fat mass.

The Effects of Stochastic Noise on Heart Rate Variability

Heart rate variability (HRV) is the amount to which the period between individual heartbeats varies. This measurement can be used as a proxy to measure bodily stress. The goal of this experiment was to examine changes in HRV when humans are exposed to different frequencies of noise (white, pink, and brown, with ambient noise and silence used as controls).

This review summarizes updated discoveries on the role of epigenetic alterations in influencing microglial IL-1ß pathways in NDDs. It specifically focuses on elucidating the impact of microRNAs, histone acetylation agents, histone methylation agents, and DNA methylation agents on the inflammatory profile of microglia.

A potentially pseudo-scientific belief that blood type influences personality began in 1927 with the publication “The Study of Temperament through Blood Type” by Tokeji Furukawa. The idea was extended in 1971 after Masahiko Nomi published “Understanding Affinity Through Blood Type.” The term Ketsueki-gata became prominent in Japanese society, the term meaning blood type influences personality
